Rococo

During the French revolution and the whole 1800th century were Europe influenced from France. The style Rococo grew and established. Rococo came after the Baroque had enlarged mostly the man wear. It had become more feminine and most of all it had taken over more from woman wear. Rococo was a big admirer of china and a lot of inspiration with a man suit containing coat, waistcoat and breeches. Why was now the rest of the man in Europe so interested in dressing likes women with perfume wigs and tights that highlighted their legs? Well, one reason for using perfume was that keeping the bad breath and smell away but was that all? Maybe because women clothes has always been more detailed and not as strict as men wear was men a little bit jealous and it would probably be more expensive and finer to have men wear with details. Also a big different in the 1800th century was that women had a lot of different styles to choose from. By influencing from women the clothes would differ a little anyway. The good economic times made it also easier for even the middle class to afford trendy and fashionable clothes. Personally I think that men wear shall be pretty strict but with some small details but not too much influence from women clothes.

Good article Jacob!

I agree with you, men should not wear clothes that looks to much like women clothes. Men should have more strict clothes, but they can still have details, just as you said. One funny thing is that if they back in days had it in the other way, that men had dresses and much details and women had more strict clothes, we would probably think that that was the best way to dress. Nowadays it feels totally wrong to think about men in big dresses with a lot of details, but what if that was the fashion? Then we would think it was awesome. It is a funny way of thinking about it, that we are raised with one thing and therefor we think it is correct and how it should be.

Nice article!

During the 18th century as you said the men's clothes had more details and were more women's clothes look-alike than today, and I agree with both of you that more strict men clothes, as they are today look better. But comparing with the women's clothes the men's clothes were quite strict weren't they? I at least think so. I would say that the strictness in clothes between women and men clothes are the same at the 18th century as today. But it was just "a bit" more details during the 18th.

Great work

I'm going to join the discussion about what clothes for men.

As you have been concluding, it feels wierd if a man is wearing women clothes. Well, I can admit that I feel so too, but I think men should be able to choose if they want to dress how they want. After all, we are talking about gender differences. I think as the society is getting more tolerant, the differences in clothes with decrease. The globalisation makes the world change faster, so will the fashion.

I don't think any of us meant that people shouldn't chose themselves what do wear or not it's just that, I at least think men suit better in stricter clothes but that is probably becuase in today's society that is what men wears and that is what we're used to.

I think that was a good article. I've always liked boys clothes because the way that they look. I think that it could be more details. I think that the 1800 clothing was too much, but that is juste my opinion. good article ;)
